Chilongolo’s Port Antonio Experience (Portland)
We are going to Portland, most of it traveling through Jamaica’s interior countryside. Watch the small villages, banana plantations and sugar cane plantations pass by out the windows. Pass English playwright Sir Noël Coward’s house, named Firefly, which is now a National Heritage Site. Once you reach Portland Parish, drive through Port Antonio to your first stop, Bikini Beach. Spend 2.5 hours here strolling along the palm-fringed shoreline and swimming in the calm waters. Sit down for a traditional Jamaican lunch before re-boarding your vehicle to head to the next stop. Continue to the Blue Lagoon, where you’ll spend an hour of free time exploring one of Jamaica’s most famous natural attractions. Take a refreshing dip in the mix of salt water and fresh spring water and admire the otherworldly blue of the water. Hear about how the lagoon was once thought to be bottomless, along with other local legends. Finally, take 1-hour trip on a 30-foot (9-meter) bamboo raft down the Rio Grande. Travel downstream toward where the river empties into the Caribbean Sea. During the ride, watch for wildlife like tropical birds and swallowtail butterflies. When your adventure is over, enjoy transportation back to your hotel.
